SIXTH GRADE!!!

Hello everyone!!!! I am in sixth grade now. Last week my class went to outdoor science camp. It was so fun! My friends Vanessa and Kaylie were in the same cabin as me. I thought the food would be like cafeteria food but it was actually REALLY GOOD! They even let us have seconds. I also liked the rock climbing. It was fun. On the medium course, I got all the way up to the top and rung the bell but on the hard course I barley even got halfway. After that we played maufia. The showers there were sooooo cold! We had to take it in 3 minutes which was not as hard as I expected it to be. My cabin was the smallest of everyones! I wish we got a bigger one. On the third day we did Botany which is the study of trees and we went on a four hour hike! We also had a trail lunch that day.  On Friday (we left on Tuesday) we had to go home. It was sad to leave but I was excited to tell my family all about it! I missed them.
So, that was my trip and if you went to outdoor ED I hope you liked it or if you are going to outdoor ED... It is going to be SO FUN.
Bye!

End of the year

I can't believe that there is only 2 weeks of school left until summer break!!!! I am excited for next year, I am going into 6th grade. On Thursday, we had our third field trip to the Great Park. We picked 925 pounds of green beans for the Second Harvest Food Bank. Click here to check out who we were feeding. I feel successful in what we did even though Ms.TV's class last year picked 1 ton of zuchinni and cabbage. We still have 3 more field trips. One to Albertsons, one to Northwood park (castle park), and on the last day of school, one to the pool. I am really happy that this year we get to have SIX trips. I am very excited. About my story, Charline and I are not sure when we  are going to publish it but I am thinking that we are nearly ready. It would be very nice if you guys buy it. Thank you so much.

(BTW I am eleven now!)

My New Story

Hi everyone!
My friend Charline and I have written a story and we are so excited to get it published. If you guys want to check it out (or even buy it!) go to lulu.com in a couple of weeks and it will be there. If you really want to read some, I will give you a sneak peek right here. Also, my birthday is coming up! It is in May so only 2 more months to go! Here is the story:

FINDING FRIENDS

CHAPTER 1
On a chilly, snowy night, Charline, Neela, Karen, Kaylie, Robin and Maddy, were having a sleepover at Robin’s house. The girls had just ate a dinner of pasta and lemonade. As they walked to Robin’s room, Neela yawned.
“We better go to bed.” Kaylie announced, “I’m tired.” they all agreed. Karen fell asleep as soon as her head hit the pillow. They were all sleeping deeply when suddenly, a bright light flashed in front of them! Neela and Charline woke up and stared at it, blinding their eyes. They were hypnotized as they staggered toward the light. Then, a cold hand shoved them in.. With a shrieking laughter, they were gone. The other friends sat up, waking to a disappearing Charline and Neela.
“What happened?! Where is Charline and Neela?! Did you hear that sound?! Are they hurt?! What if they never come back?! What if-” cried Robin.
“Don’t worry.” Maddy said, “I think they just went downstairs. Maybe to get a midnight snack.”
“Okay.” Robin sighed.
The four girls rushed downstairs and found no one there. They searched high and low but still couldn’t find them. They glumly walked up the stairs and realized that there were footprints on the ground and a tiny, glowing, light. Kaylie pinched it and it enlarged.
“Oh my gosh! I think this is a portal to somewhere! Wait a sec…...Ah Ha! I know! This is a portal that Charline and Neela probably fell in! Let’s go inside!” exclaimed Karen. But before Karen could put her foot in, Maddy raced to stop her, just in time.
“Be careful Karen! We don’t know what’s in that portal! It could be dangerous!” Madeline whisper-yelled.
“We understand what you’re trying to do but we can’t just go right away. We need to make a plan.”
“I’m okay with that. My goal is just to get them back.”
“Hughhh-sshoooooo!!!” the four girls heard. They were startled and froze.
“Oh my! I forgot that my parents were still sleeping! How are we supposed to do this without them knowing?” asked Robin. They thought and thought and thought.
“Yes! I know what to do!” exclaimed Karen. “ Let’s go ask the good witch Sorcerer Young and Enchantress TV! They can put a sleeping spell on them!”
“Good idea! Yeah! Let’s do it! Hurry!” the girls agreed. They quickly got dressed, and in a blink of an eye, they were gone.

CHAPTER 2
Neela and Charline felt like they were falling, falling, falling, and then, THUMP! They hit the ground as hard as a rock. They woke up, confused.
“Where are we?” asked Neela.
“I-I-I don’t really know.” Charline answered miserably. “But I do know we’re lost.” They looked around the dark world nervously and started to curl up. Suddenly, A tan-colored light appeared and morphed into a human girl! The two girls hopped backwards.
“Whoa! What was that?” cried Neela.
“Hello.” she said, “Welcome to Ingla! My name is Rachel.” Then, three other lights, each their own color, appeared and morphed into girls.
“Hi! I’m Cindy. Yay! We finally have visitors!” said the orange light.
“I’m Olivia.” said the yellow light.
“And I’m Annabel.” said the red light.
“Hello. I’m Charline and this is my friend Neela.” Charline answered to the 4 girls.
“Hi!” Neela added.
“Where are you from?” asked Olivia C.
“We are from Earth.” said Neela. As the girls made friends with Rachel, Cindy, Olivia, and Annabel, the 4 girls walked toward the capital of Ingla, Bryville, where Queen Ramirez ruled. When they got there, the villagers peeked at them, noticing Neela and Charline were from another land. Two little girls ran up to them, one with a purple light and one with a pink light.
“Hello!” said the purple light, “My name is Caroline. Welcome to Bryville!”
“I’m Naiya. You look like nice people!” said the pink light, “What are your names?”
“I am Neela and this is my friend Charline, and back home, our sisters are named Naiya and Caroline.” said Neela surprised. Then a young red light came over.
“Hey! I’m Nirav, welcome to Bryville!” The 3 little ones joined the group and they all walked slowly, admiring the unique shops and the things in them.
“Do any of you know how to get portals? We fell in one and we need to get home.” asked Charline.
“I know!” shouted Caroline, “We can ask Queen Ramirez for help!”
“I know where to go!” said Cindy, “Follow me!”Cindy rushed out of the room, waiting for them to follow. Neela shrugged as to say, ‘I don’t where we are going but let’s follow them.’ And that’s what they did.

5th grade

Hi everyone! I am in 5th grade now! Today is Veterans day so I have a day off from school. I am still in the same school and same program. My new teacher's name is Ms. T-V (Thomas-Vallens). She is very nice and she teaches us very well. My sister, Naiya is almost 5 now (her birthday is on the 19th, 8 days left!). She is in T-K, transitional kindergarden. My brother, Nirav is 8. He is in my school now and in 3rd grade. I am now 10. This year we are learning about decimals in math, exporers in social studies, etc. 5th grade is really fun but I can't wait for 6th too. We are also doing frog disections on Friday in science lab and I am excited. Last year we disected owl pellets and found bones in them. Today, I just made some sugar-free, almond flour, chocolate chip cookies but they didn't turn out so good. But yesterday I made some too and they tasted good. Now I am going to post the first part of my story, "Magnificeint Girl"(I changed the name):

Bark! Bark! Bark! I woke up to the sound of my dog Petunia. She is 2 years old and a husky.
"Ok! Ok Petunia. I will take you for a walk." I said
I glanced at my alarm clock.
"Aw man," I thought "It's only 2:57 in the morning."
Then I peeked outside and saw it was pouring rain.
"Well, I guess I have to go outside anyway. Whatever." I thought again, this time shrugging "I like the rain."
I rubbed my eyes and got out of bed, put my shoes on, got my umbrella and marched outside with Petunia.
It felt so cold! Finally, I realised I forgot my jacket inside. I ran inside and got it with my cell phone that I also left inside.

Oh, I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Wendy Wilcox and I am 10 years old. I am the daughter of Joseph and Melissa Wilcox. My sister's name is Gale Wilcox and my brother's name is Dillan Wilcox. We are triplets and since we all have reddish-brown hair, our teacher, Ms. Mandrin sometimes gets us confused. We all have freckles too.

Now back to today. I opened up my umbrella and started walking Petunia. After I came back from the walk around the neighborhood, I went back in my room and checked the time. It was 3:24 am. After that, I checked my calendar and it said MY BIRTHDAY in big, red letters (my favorite color).
I gasped. It was my birthday and I didn't even know it!
Suddenly, I heard a clang coming from the kitchen followed by "Shhhhh! You will wake her up!" Then I noticed that Dillan and Gale were not in their beds!
By the way, we all sleep in different beds but in the same room.

I scooted as quiet as a cheetah hunting for prey, into the kitchen. On the table, I saw a fancy breakfast and cake with my name on it. Mom, Dad, Dillan, and Gale, were sitting aroud the table with a empty chair for me. When I walked into the room, the started singing "Happy Birthday" to me.
I eyed a present in Mom's hand and she gave it to me. I ripped it open and saw the newest edition of my favorite book, Land of Stories.
"Thank you so much!" I said excitedly, hugging the book.
"I'm glad you like it." Dad said "Now, let's enjoy the beautiful breakfast and cake that your Mom and Gale made you."

After we ate, it was only 5:46 am and I went up to my room.
Ok, I am going to tell you a secret. I am acually the hero Magnificient girl, Gale is Power girl, and Dillan is Super boy. Don't tell anybody or I will be really mad at you.
As I was saying, I was going upstairs with Gale and Dillan when all of our phones started ringing.

"Hello?" I asked.
"Hi this is Erin Mozart, your boss." the person on the line replied.
"Oh, hi Erin. Did you know it is my birthday today?"
"Yes. I do know and Happy Birthday, but we have a big problem." Erin said.
"What is it?" I asked worriedly.
"The bogus Billlimore made a giant carton of Allisome Acid and is pouring it on everybody in Wisconsin. Allisome Acid makes anyone or thing who touches it fall asleep for 182 years. Only you guys can reverse it."
"We got to stop him. This is a job for Magnificient girl, Power girl, and Super boy!"
"But it had to be on my birthday." I thought to myself.

My new school

Hello everyone!
I have not written in a long time. Now I am 9 years old and in 4th grade. I just started school at Brywood elementary and I am in APAAS (Alternative Program for Academically Advanced Students). My teachers name is Ms. Young. She is very nice. I don't think I have told you that I went to Springbrook elementary in Ms. McCubbin's class last year. She is very nice too. I stopped homeschooling and now I am doing public school. My brother, Nirav is homeschooled though. My sister, Naiya also started preschool at the beginning of this year. Her teachers name is Ms. Maryam. She really likes her school but two of her friends graduated to kindergarten this year.
Today I have a day off from school because its a student holiday. We might go to the beach. I like to surf, boogie board and play in the sand with Naiya and Nirav but mostly I like to play in the water with my friends if they come too.
I will be posting a story I am writing later called "The Adventures of Wendy Wilcox". I have barely written a page yet so it might take a long time till I post it. I might post chapter by chapter.

Marietta and the Magical Emerald

This is a story I wrote in Bridges Project Ink writing class. It's about a fairy named Marietta and a scientist named Draco:

Chapter One: The Land of Sunny Maple

Once upon a time, far, far away in the Land of Sunny Maple, if you looked close enough you would see golden, shimmering Almond Castle.  Strong, stone towers with clear, beautiful windows stood tall.  The castle had wooden steps so lovely they looked fake.  It was a lovely place were flowers grew every day.  All around it you could see the old sandy-brown trees of Butterfly Forest which blue birds filled in the sunny summer.  Next to it you could hear the whistling ocean-blue water of Diamond waterfall as loud of a elephant's trumpet.  You could also smell the fresh, syrupy melted chocolate from Bellflower Chocolate Lake.  It was a magical place where strange, enchanting things happened, especially when the chocolate plants gracefully grew under the cinnamon-brown lake.

Chapter Two: Marietta

In the land of Sunny maple, there also lived a smart fairy named Marietta. She had beautiful wings with light-pink swirly designs of butterflies on them because she loved how butterflies floated through the air.  Her soft rose-pink hair was like a flower blowing in the wind whenever she flew around. When you looked at her you could see her dazzling feet, as smooth as round pebbles with pink toenail polish. She always wore a sparkly dress which was made out of silk and shimmered in the sun when ever she zoomed through the clouds. She also wore a pink barrette which was shaped like a daisy and kept her thin hair out of her lovely face when she played with the butterflies.  Marietta always carried a magical emerald seed that could grow into anything she commanded.  She hid it in her pouch so that she could make sure no one faced any danger.

Chapter Three: Draco

In the Land of Sunny Maple there also lived a scientist named Draco.  His large peach-orange nose smelled his experiments in his lab, and had a wild mustache sitting underneath it.  His large, black eyes were like the dark night shining in the silver moon light.  When you looked at him, you could see silver-gray hair as spiky as porcupine quills poking someone.  He always wore aqua-blue glasses, which looked like the ocean when he greedily smiled.  he also wore a sky-blue tie which quickly swung around his neck because it was very heavy.  Draco always wanted to steal the chocolate plants underneath the cinnamon-brown Bellflower Chocolate Lake because he loved chocolate.

Chapter Four: Draco's plan

One windy afternoon something terrible happened in the Land of Sunny Maple.  It all started because Draco wanted to selfishly steal the chocolate plants away from the lake.  First he quietly walked over the bridge as fast as a tiger towards the lake. At that moment, Draco dove into Bellflower Chocolate Lake and speedily dashed down to the yummy plants.  He was so happy he danced around the because he now knew he could eat all the chocolate he wanted.  Anyone could see that he wanted to do something bad because of his greedy smile.  Then he grabbed the sweet plants so quickly he jumped back up to the surface in three seconds.  You could see the lake turning into sticky chocolate quicksand mysteriously.  And, it sounded as if there was a huge earthquake, shaking the ground very hard.  All around him sat the remains of the plants like the leaves and steams.  At last, he silently raced back to the shore until he turned around and there was Marietta.  There was a moment of silence as they stared at each other. At the same time, there was a feeling of hunger among all the citizens.  Instantly, Draco ran away with the valuable plants back to his smelly cottage.  Draco  felt so happy he could have eaten 100 pounds of chocolate.  Draco cheerfully whispered, "Ha-ha-ha! Now I can eat so much chocolate!"
Marietta sadly muttered, "I need to do something and fast!!"

Chapter Five: The Chocolate Plants are Returned

Then at that moment Marietta remembered her Magical Emerald seed, so she grabbed it and flew slowly off to the lake. At that moment , she threw the seed into the chocolate quicksand and shouted "Grow more chocolate plants!!!"  She was so happy she could have flew all the way up to the sun. Anyone around could see that she was excited because she had a twinkle in her eyes.  In a flash she joyfully flew as fast as a humming bird after Draco.  You could see her shimmering wings fluttering 1000 times per minute! And, it sounded as if a giant jumped up and down ten times because her wings flapped really hard. All around her loud noises almost made her fall to the ground but she pushed forward until she caught up to Draco.  Then she convinced Draco to give back some of the chocolate plants so he walked back slowly back to Bellflower Chocolate Lake.  There was a long moment of silence as Draco gave back the plants.  And at the same time the plants started to grow very quickly until they reached the  top of the lake.  Instantly all the  villagers came down to the lake and ate some chocolate cheering for Marietta.  Marietta felt so cheerful she could have hugged all the villagers. Marietta kindly shouted "Thank you for giving back the plants!!"  Draco slowly replied "Your welcome, but can I keep one?  Marietta happily answered "You can. Go plant it!"  In the end Draco raced home and ate chocolate.  Then they all lived happily after ever.

About the Author and Dedication

Neela Emilie Michelsen is the author of Marietta and the Magical Emerald.  She is in third grade and participated in  the 2013 Project Ink writing camp this summer where she wrote this story.  She has one younger brother, Nirav and one younger sister Naiya who are both fun to play with and she loves to play kitchen with them.  Neela likes to read books such as Winter according to Humphrey and the Judy Blume series because they allow her to relax from running  around.  She also likes to play at the  park with Nirav and Naiya.  In her spare time, Neela plays music on the piano, songs such as "Somewhere over the Rainbow."  When she grows up she would like to be a baker because she likes to bake cookies, especially chocolate ones.  Neela would like to dedicate her story to her mom because she helps her bake cookies.

Swim team

Hi.
I signed up in swim team.  The days I do swim practice are Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. On Saturdays I have Swim meets too.  Last Saturday I had my first Swim meet.

On that day it was my brother's birthday party.  He is six years old now.

At the party I lost my second tooth.  I can feel the first adult tooth coming in.  Now when I smile I look funny.  My mom says I talk funny but I don't think I do.

The day after that was father's day. I painted a frame at an art place and put a picture in it and my brother drew a light house.
